We are in the process of setting up a new charitable organisation in Vauxhall, in the centre of London. We have a brand new £1.3m community centre and funding of £75,000 per year for the next 30 years from Notting Hill Housing Trust. Our aim is for the community centre to support those in need in the local community.
We are looking for enthusiastic people with an interest in community work, who want to lay the foundations for a new charitable organisation.
At the moment we are rotating the role of secretary and chair amongst ourselves, so if you have experience as chair, secretary or treasurer you are very welcome. You are equally welcome if to join us if you don’t have management committee experience but have the relevant skills and experience we are looking for.
We hope to establish a balanced team of people to develop a genuinely effective and exciting approach to community work.
We meet monthly on the second Thursday of the month at 6pm in Vauxhall
The Management Committee is currently tasked with developing its business plan proposal to get the community centre up and running, and to establish its new legal entity by early 2013.
