The council is currently putting together the list of roads and pavements across Lambeth for inclusion in next year's maintenance programme (2010/11). Roads and pavements considered for inclusion in the scheme are nominated by councillors. The roads that make it on to the actual maintenance plan are then chosen from these on the basis of relative need.Steve Bradley's email address is sbradley (at) lambeth (dot) gov (dot) uk
Last year, two roads in our area were included in the programme: Holland Grove and Penford Street.
Disappointingly, a number of other roads failed to make the list (including Cormont Road, which is in a very poor state).
Across this year I have been pushing the case for a number of local roads and pavements that are particularly in need of repair including
- Cormont Road
- Welby Street
- Lilford Road
- Mowl Street
- Lorn Road
- Cowley Road (Vassall Road end).
I have taken Lambeth Highways staff on visits to a number of these areas to push the case, and they have told me they will be scored highly for consideration in next year's plan.
No doubt there are other streets and pavements in our area that you think are in need of attention.
If you would like me to fight for any other local roads or pavements to be included in next year's plan, please email me by Friday 4 December.

I thought Steve Bradley was Councillor for Vassall Ward rather than Stockwell?
Surely if you have concerns about Stcokwell roads contact Pete Bowyer, Imogen Walker or Pav Aktar - they actually have infleunce over Stockwell's roads.
Mind you I suppose Steve Bradley does live in Stockwell so is would probably have some say over Stockwell matters!

Thank you for commenting. All comments are moderated so it may be a short while before you see your comment on the blog. I will keep back some comments relating to the current Seyi murder trial until it is over, as it is not appropriate to assume guilt or innocence until we have a verdict. I know this is painful to some people who have taken the trouble to comment, but I ask you to be patient.
