Amanial Afowerki sentenced for Hargwynne Street stabbing

Amanial Afowerki, 22, of Wiltshire Road, who stabbed a 20-year-old man in Hargwynne Street in October 2008, has been sentenced to seven years in prison. The victim was treated in intensive care and had over 150 stitches and a permanent facial scar.

At Inner London Crown Court Judge Lyndsay Burn said Afowerki was a "habitual" carrier of knives and that this was a grave and premeditated attack. Afowerki will imprisoned for public protection for a minimum of three and a half years and remain on a life licence on release.
